Well, I did it! I managed to win first place at a local costume contest with Anubis. I got a ton of praise as well as confidence when I will make my griffin fursuit. I won a hologram of the Starship Enterprise from The Original Series. It makes me want to make more costumes and invest in a sewing machine in the near future.

San Diego's on Fire!
Well today, my workplace had to stop early due to a fire breaking out in Carlsbad. While it is not under any evacuation orders, my boss's boss thinks we all should leave as a precaution. He told us to go anywhere but west. As soon as I get home, another fire start breaking out in San Elijo Hills which is 8 miles away. I can see the smoke and flames from my own home. For that reason, I decided to pack up two bags containing items that I need and a Rainbow Dash plush. I really hope my house doesn't get hit.

So I took my 2007 Toyota Yaris into a repair shop for maintenance when one of the repair guys came up to me and asked me if I was the original owner of the car. I told him that I bought it used two years ago. Then he showed me that he found a birth certificate inside the cabin filter area that didn't belong to anybody I know. I got a palm-sized abscess known as a Pilonidal cyst. Well, I just went for a pre-op today and got myself evaluated. They told me not to eat after midnight, shower the night and the morning before the operation and not to take any painkillers until after the surgery. They also took a blood test and an EKG to check my current condition. Then they tell me that my insurance will only pay for 70% of the procedure so I'm going to have to pay $4,000. Then they tell me that they can give me a 40% discount if I can come up with $1,200 by that day. I told them I don't have that much money and I don't get paid until Friday.
